Prince Harry Addresses Divorce Rumours as Meghan Makes Glam Solo Appearance
Another day, another royal rumour, but this time Prince Harry has addressed the speculation about his and Meghan Markle's marriage. Despite years of scrutiny, the couple—who tied the knot in 2018—has faced increasing questions about their relationship, especially recently, as they’ve made separate public appearances in the United States.
The latest sighting saw Meghan making a glamorous solo appearance in Los Angeles with her close friend Tyler Perry, while Prince Harry was in New York City for The New York Times' 2024 DealBook Summit.
At the Paley Center’s Fall Gala in Beverly Hills, Meghan turned heads in a strapless Oscar de la Renta gown, which featured a scooped front and a figure-hugging skirt. She completed the look with black strappy heels, a diamond necklace by Logan Hollowell, and rings from famed jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, as reported by *Marie Claire*.
The mother-of-two appeared to be in high spirits at the event, where her friend Tyler—a director, actor, and philanthropist—was honoured. Meghan and Harry have been close friends with Tyler for years, and he is even the godfather of their youngest child, Lilibet. Tyler also played a key role when the couple left the UK, offering them his mansion in Canada before they moved to the U.S. in 2020.
In their Netflix documentary, Tyler shared that he had never met Harry and Meghan in person before offering them the use of his house. He first reached out to Meghan ahead of her wedding when her strained relationship with her father was in the headlines, offering his support. Meghan later took him up on his offer when the couple needed a place to stay.
Meghan recalled in the documentary: "He's like, 'My house is safe, and I'll make sure you have security, and you take your time.' And I was like, 'We only need to stay for a week, if we could stay for just a week, and then we can find somewhere to live.' And he was like, 'You're not going to stay for just a week. You're going to stay for as long as you need, and I’m going to get you there safely and keep you safe until you have somewhere to go.'"
While Meghan was supporting Tyler on the West Coast, Harry addressed the constant media attention surrounding their relationship on the East Coast. Speaking at the DealBook Summit in New York, he commented on the never-ending speculation, saying: "No, that's definitely not a good thing. Apparently, we've bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what? It’s hard to keep up with, but that's why you just sort of ignore it."
He continued, "The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls. Their hopes are just built and built, and it's like, 'Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,' and then it doesn’t happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do."
Harry and Meghan are reportedly taking a “twin track” approach to their public appearances, allowing them to pursue their own passions while balancing their individual commitments.
