Disney Threatens Meghan Markle With Lawsuit Over Stolen Catchphrase for Cooking Show

Disney Threatens Meghan Markle With Lawsuit Over Stolen Catchphrase for Cooking Show

Meghan Markle’s Cooking Show Faces Criticism for Plagiarism and Lack of Originality

Meghan Markle is ready to share her culinary skills with the world in her new Netflix show, *With Love, Megan*. However, the show is quickly being dubbed *With Love, Plagiarism* by viewers who are noticing some glaring similarities to other content.

In the trailer for her new cooking series, Meghan invites her friends over to her California estate for a mix of cooking, gardening, and hosting tips. However, if you’ve seen the trailer, you might have thought, *“This seems familiar…”* Well, that’s because it is. Sharp-eyed viewers have pointed out that the ladybug caprese bruschetta Meghan shares in the trailer is nearly identical to a recipe that’s been circulating on food blogs since 2015. It’s also been featured in US lifestyle magazines and on TikTok. So, Megan, was your inspiration for this culinary “magic” just a quick Pinterest scroll? How original.

As if copying recipes wasn’t enough, Meghan also seems to be borrowing from her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. In one segment of the trailer, Meghan is seen tending to a beehive, which happens to be one of Princess Kate’s well-known hobbies. But wait—it’s not just Kate who’s into beekeeping; King Charles and Queen Camilla are also fans of the hobby, and Buckingham Palace even has its own bee colonies. But Meghan, ever the trendsetter, had to outdo them by donning a beekeeper suit and pretending to be the *new* Queen of the Hive. You can almost hear the buzz of creativity... or not.

And if you thought the trailer might just be a fluke, think again. Viewers have also noted the striking similarities between Meghan’s show and *Emma’s Kitchen*, a YouTube series hosted by Emma Weth, which has been showcasing delicious dishes from her Longleat House kitchen since 2015. Somehow, Meghan’s production team missed that little detail when brainstorming her show’s concept. It seems originality is not her forte.

Now, let’s talk about that tagline, because it’s hard to ignore. Meghan’s cooking show proudly declares, *“Create Wonder in Every Moment.”* Where have we heard that before? Oh, right—Disney has been using that exact phrase for years in its marketing campaigns. The phrase is synonymous with the magic and enchantment Disney promotes at its theme parks and resorts. It’s almost as if Meghan thought, *“What’s the easiest way to make my show seem magical? Steal from Disney!”*

There’s a basic rule in business: *don’t mess with Disney.* They’ve been known to sue anyone who dares to use their intellectual property, even grandmas who knit Mickey Mouse hats. So it’s only a matter of time before Disney comes knocking at Meghan’s door. You really don’t want to be on their bad side.

But it’s not just Meghan who might be in trouble—Netflix should have caught that blatant plagiarism before greenlighting the show. Now, here we are, watching Meghan walk right into a branding lawsuit, seemingly unaware of the bad decisions she’s making.

At this point, it’s hard not to wonder what Meghan’s thinking. Does she honestly believe we’ll just buy into her recycled ideas and pretend they’re groundbreaking? Is she really hoping we’ll forget that she’s basically copying everything from recipes and hobbies to taglines? And let’s not forget her frequent reminders that she’s royalty, as if that gives her a free pass.

One thing’s for sure: Meghan might have Disney on her radar now, and that’s not something anyone should take lightly.
