Royal Family 'Rejection' of Meghan Markle at Crucial Meeting Raises Eyebrows
The Royal family made their stance on Meghan Markle's involvement in key family discussions crystal clear when they excluded her from a pivotal meeting attended by Prince Harry.
To set the stage, back in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the decision to step down from their senior royal roles, just two years after their highly publicized marriage. As part of this transition, a meeting was held with some of the most senior members of the royal family, including the Queen, then-Prince Charles, and Prince William, to discuss the couple's future within the monarchy.
However, there was a notable absence at the table—Meghan Markle, who was reportedly left behind in Canada while Prince Harry attended the meeting alone. Speculation quickly arose surrounding her exclusion, with initial reports suggesting that the couple decided it "wasn't necessary" for Meghan to join the discussion, even by phone.
But, according to royal sources, it wasn’t Meghan's decision alone. A royal commentator revealed that the key family members had "rejected" Meghan's presence at the meeting due to concerns about privacy. Daily Mail's Richard Kay cited palace officials, stating, "No one knew for sure who else might have been listening in. This was a highly confidential family discussion, not a conference call," referencing the sensitive nature of the conversation.
Interestingly, Meghan herself addressed the exclusion in the couple’s bombshell Netflix series in 2020. The Mirror reported that Meghan, the mother of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, expressed her frustration, saying, "Imagine a conversation, a roundtable discussion about the future of your life. When the stakes are this high. And you, as the mom and the wife and the target, in many regards, aren't invited to have a seat at the table."
In response to her feelings, Harry added, "It was clear to me that they planned out so that you weren't in the room."
The events surrounding this meeting continue to fuel public interest in the ongoing dynamics between the Sussexes and the royal family, shedding light on the challenges and tensions that have shaped their departure from royal duties.
