Meghan Markle Opens Up About the Loss of Her Beloved Beagle, Guy. Meghan Markle is grieving the loss of her cherished beagle, Guy.
The Duchess of Sussex, who found the rescued dog in Ontario back in 2015, has kept him close to her heart ever since. Meghan shared her sorrowful feelings in an emotional Instagram post, revealing how deeply she has been affected by Guy’s passing.
Accompanying photos of Guy, Meghan wrote: “They referred to him as ‘the little guy’ because he was so small and frail, so I named him ‘Guy.’ And he was the best guy any girl could have asked for.”
She continued, "If you followed me on Instagram back in the day, you saw a lot of him – and on The Tig too. He was with me through everything: at *Suits*, when I got engaged, then married, and when I became a mom… he was there for all the quiet moments, the chaos, the calm, and the comfort."
Meghan also shared a touching memory of Guy’s recovery after a serious accident. "He endured a terrible accident just before I moved to the UK, which led to surgeries over several months and him being unable to leave the clinic. Doctors said he would never walk again, but Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick believed otherwise. H and I would drive late at night, after hours, to see Guy as he recovered in Surrey for months on end."
She expressed her gratitude to those who helped Guy through his recovery: “I will always be grateful to Noel and his team, the team at Queen West Animal Hospital in Toronto, our vets now, and my friends and community: Thank you for loving him so much.”
In her emotional post, Meghan acknowledged how important Guy was in her life and how devastated she feels by his loss. “Because many of you will now see Guy in this new series, I hope you’ll come to understand why I am so devastated by his loss. I think you may fall a little bit in love too.”
