Netflix appears to be cutting its losses with Meghan Markle after a series of chaotic missteps surrounding her projects. The streaming giant has reportedly axed two upcoming Meghan Markle shows, signaling a tough shift in their approach after a month of internal debates with their board of directors. So what happened? Why did Netflix, once so eager to invest in Meghan’s charm (or whatever they thought she had), suddenly hit the brakes?  

According to entertainment insider Mike Zeroh, Meghan’s latest project, *With Love, Meghan*, has been nothing short of a disaster. In fact, it’s quickly become one of the most poorly received Netflix shows of 2025. Things are not going smoothly at Netflix HQ, with cracks starting to show in the board’s support for Meghan. Initially, Netflix executives were all-in, even going so far as to fire the marketing team at Meghan’s request and bringing in a new squad to salvage the situation. However, as the backlash against her continued to grow, it became clear that the public was simply not on board.  

And this isn’t just minor grumbling. Over 20,000 complaints flooded Netflix from frustrated subscribers, putting pressure on the company to reevaluate its decisions.  

Now, let’s talk about those two canceled shows. According to Mike, Meghan pitched a travel series for 2026 and a shopping-focused series for 2027. Both had been approved by Netflix just a month ago, but after three days of intense internal arguments, Netflix’s leadership realized they had to pull the plug. The streaming giant had reportedly set to pay Meghan $20 million for each of these shows under a new contract, but now that money is staying in Netflix’s wallet. The travel and shopping series? Gone.  

As for *With Love, Meghan* Season 2, it’s still hanging in the balance. Netflix is taking a wait-and-see approach, monitoring how the first season performs before deciding whether to renew or cancel. But here’s the kicker: CEO Greg Peters is reportedly still fighting with the board to cancel the show outright. While Netflix isn’t ready to make a final decision just yet, it’s looking more and more like a breakup between Meghan and the streaming giant could be imminent.  

What makes this situation even more cringe-worthy is Meghan’s initial belief that she could appeal to women worldwide with her “relatable” projects. She pitched a travel show and a shopping series, thinking these would be the perfect ways to boost her popularity. Netflix bought in—at least for a while—before pulling the plug. Now, behind the scenes, Meghan is reportedly losing her cool, acting like a diva and getting aggressive with her team and executives.  

And here’s where it gets juicier: Netflix initially thought the backlash would die down, but instead, it’s only grown louder. The public has made it clear—they’re not interested in seeing more of Meghan on their screens. They don’t want to be bombarded with her shows, and they certainly don’t want to watch her pretend to be a “relatable” everyday woman.

But with Netflix officially on the fence, it’s looking more and more like they’re inching closer to saying goodbye to Meghan Markle for good.
