The Heritage Foundation Pushes for Prince Harry's Immigration Record Transparency
The Heritage Foundation is once again calling for full transparency regarding Prince Harry's U.S. visa application, in light of concerns about his past admissions of drug use.
The conservative think tank, based in Washington, D.C., is urging that Harry’s immigration records be made public. They claim that his disclosures in his memoir *Spare*—which include past use of cocaine, marijuana, and psychedelic mushrooms—raise legitimate concerns about his eligibility to live in the United States.
U.S. immigration law mandates that applicants disclose any history of drug use. The Heritage Foundation argues that these records are of significant public interest, especially given Harry’s openness about his past habits.
Although the think tank lost a legal battle in September to force the release of Harry’s documents—when Judge Carl Nichols ruled to keep them sealed—they are now asking former President Donald Trump to use his executive authority to revisit the issue.
Nile Gardiner, the director of the Heritage Foundation’s Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom, believes Trump could intervene to push for the release. In an interview with *The New York Post*, Gardiner said, “Donald Trump’s strong stance on border enforcement aligns with ensuring accountability for individuals like Prince Harry, who has admitted to significant drug use.”
The relationship between the Sussexes and Trump has always been tense, with the former president having criticized both Harry and Meghan Markle on several occasions. Now, Harry’s immigration status and potential tax obligations in the U.S. could add further friction to the already strained dynamic under Trump’s leadership.
The renewed push for Harry’s immigration records highlights ongoing scrutiny over his controversial past, raising important questions about how it could impact his future in the United States.
