Originally scheduled to testify in his legal case in February, the Duke of Sussex managed to resolve the matter before it went to trial, avoiding a potential travel conflict with the inaugural winter edition of the Invictus Games in Vancouver, Canada. The case resolution now allows him to fully dedicate himself to the games, which run from February 8 to February 16, while also working to strengthen his children’s connection to the UK.
Though Harry and Meghan have made California their base since 2020, when they stepped down from their royal duties, the Duke is keen to ensure his children have a bond with his homeland. A close friend shared with *Hello!* that Harry’s main concern is the safety of his family during their UK visits. “He wants Archie and Lilibet to experience his home country, connect with their roots, and continue supporting his patronages,” the friend revealed.
The ongoing security dispute, which stems from a High Court ruling that reduced his UK protection, has complicated Harry’s visits to the UK. As a result, the children were last seen there during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. King Charles has only met Lilibet in person once, further highlighting the challenges this situation presents.
Despite these difficulties, Harry remains committed to ensuring his children have a meaningful connection to the UK, while balancing his royal responsibilities and personal endeavors.
