Invictus Games Outgoing CEO Dominic Reid Opens Up About Prince Harry Ahead of Final Events
Prince Harry has devoted a significant part of his royal life—and beyond—to his beloved Invictus Games.
Now, as the Duke of Sussex prepares to launch the inaugural winter edition of the Games, a decade after founding the event, outgoing CEO Dominic Reid is reflecting on his time working alongside the Prince.
Reid, who announced in July last year that he would be stepping down after ten years of service, will oversee his final Invictus Games next week in Vancouver and Whistler.
In a rare interview, Reid shared heartfelt insights about what the Invictus Games truly mean to Prince Harry.
“It’s incredibly important to him—not just as a soldier, but as a person,” Reid told *People* magazine. “He’s been the driving force, offering guidance and vision. It’s been a real privilege to be part of that journey.”
Prince Harry has often spoken about how the Invictus Games played a vital role in his own healing process. “The Games have been instrumental in my recovery, in my personal growth,” he’s shared. “There’s a deep connection between me and the Foundation, and it’s something people recognize and respond to with warmth.”
Reid also reflected on the impact the Games have had on countless participants. “Everyone takes away something unique, based on their own experiences,” he said. He praised Harry for creating “extraordinary opportunities for an extraordinary number of people. They feel seen, heard, and truly cared for.”
The upcoming Invictus Games will take place from February 8 to February 16.
