Invictus Games Drama: Canada Team Member Angry at Meghan Markle for Moving Wheelchair

Meghan Markle Sparks Outrage at 2025 Invictus Games with Wheelchair Controversy

Just when you thought Meghan Markle might take a break from controversy, she’s back in the headlines—and not for the right reasons. The Duchess of Sussex has managed to upset an entire community at the 2025 Invictus Games, this time drawing the ire of wheelchair users after a now-viral clip showed her thoughtlessly moving a Team Canada member’s wheelchair without permission.

The incident occurred during a pregame breakfast with Team Canada, where Meghan and Prince Harry were mingling and attempting to appear relatable. Out of nowhere, Meghan grabbed hold of a wheelchair belonging to a Team Canada member and pushed it forward as if rearranging furniture. The woman in the wheelchair, clearly caught off guard, stopped mid-sentence, likely wondering, “What in the royal hell is happening?”

The clip quickly went viral, sparking outrage across social media. One user on X (formerly Twitter) summed it up perfectly: “My daughter is in a wheelchair, and someone else trying to move it is a huge no. Their wheelchair is an extension of themselves. Meghan is in her personal space and needs to stop.” Others echoed the sentiment, with one person asking, “Isn’t that woman an athlete? Why does she need to be pushed like a helpless child? It’s like she sees disabled people as props for her own self-serving photo ops.”

This isn’t the first time Meghan has been accused of treating wheelchair users insensitively. Critics were quick to recall a similar incident at the Pasadena Parade, where she ignored a person in a wheelchair while posing for photos. On another occasion, she used a wheelchair user as a prop for a photo op without even acknowledging them. It’s almost as if Meghan views people as accessories—much like how some critics view her marriage to Prince Harry.

What makes this latest incident even more baffling is that Meghan’s own sister, Samantha Markle, uses a wheelchair. Yet, remembering inconvenient details has never been Meghan’s strong suit.

Many are now predicting that this could be Meghan’s last appearance at the Invictus Games. One social media user declared, “I’m calling it now—this is her last appearance at Invictus. The organizers are going to tell Harry she’s not welcome next time. And if he insists on bringing her, well, maybe he’s not welcome either.”

The Invictus Games are meant to celebrate the bravery and resilience of veterans who have overcome tremendous obstacles. Yet, every time Meghan attends, she seems to make the event about herself. This time, she literally moved an adult woman around like an inanimate object, all for the sake of a photo op. It’s a move that has been widely condemned as inexcusable.

Will Meghan learn from this incident? Spoiler alert: probably not. Expect the usual PR damage control—perhaps a teary-eyed podcast episode where she laments how hard it is to be misunderstood, all while clutching an overpriced latte in her Montecito mansion.

In the meantime, there’s still a week left of the Invictus Games. Who knows what Meghan will do next? Stay tuned—she might just complete a full “grifter bingo card” before the games are over.
