Meghan & Harry Hit Back at Split Rumors with ‘Strategic’ Public Move

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s PDA at Invictus Games: A Calculated Move, Say Experts

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no strangers to rumors about their marriage, and their latest public appearance at the Invictus Games in Vancouver on February 8 has sparked fresh discussions. The couple, who have been the subject of ongoing speculation about their relationship, seemed to address the chatter head-on with a seemingly spontaneous kiss during the opening ceremony. However, according to marketing experts, this moment was anything but unplanned.

While the kiss appeared to be a natural display of affection, marketing expert Edward Coram James believes it was a carefully orchestrated move. “They’ve both been under constant public scrutiny, and after everything last year with the relationship rumors, this kind of PDA is no accident,” James told *Express.co.uk*.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have faced increasing speculation about the state of their marriage, particularly as they’ve shifted their business strategy to focus on more individual projects in 2023. James suggested that their public display of unity was a “strategic and clever” way to control the narrative, especially with Harry’s upcoming Netflix documentary on the horizon.

“If they hadn’t done this, people would have immediately speculated that their relationship was in a bad place, which would have been the worst thing for the Netflix premiere,” he explained. “But it’s also kind of necessary for them to keep the focus where they want it.”

Harry has previously addressed the constant gossip about his marriage with humor. Last year, he joked, “Apparently, we’ve divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?” Despite the lighthearted response, the couple has faced relentless scrutiny since stepping back from their roles as senior royals in 2020.

Their appearance at the Invictus Games, an event close to Harry’s heart, was an opportunity to showcase their unity. However, Meghan’s early departure from the event—returning to California after just four days to be with their children—has also fueled speculation. Harry, on the other hand, remained in Canada for the duration of the Games.

This isn’t the first time Harry and Meghan have been accused of carefully managing their public image. From their high-profile interviews to their Netflix docuseries, the couple has consistently used strategic moments to shape their narrative. Their kiss at the Invictus Games is just the latest example of their ability to turn the spotlight in their favor.

James emphasized that such public displays are essential for the couple, especially as they continue to navigate their post-royal lives. “They need to keep the focus on their unity and shared goals, particularly as they face ongoing criticism and speculation,” he said.

While the PDA may have been a calculated move, it also highlights the challenges Harry and Meghan face in maintaining their public image. Every appearance, every gesture, and every decision is scrutinized, leaving little room for spontaneity.

As they continue to balance their personal lives with their professional endeavors, one thing is clear: Harry and Meghan are determined to stay in control of their story. Whether it’s through a carefully timed kiss or a well-placed joke, the couple knows how to keep the world talking—and guessing.
