When Mistakes Become Habits: Meghan Markle’s Repeated Missteps and Her Latest Rebrand Attempt
When someone keeps making the same mistakes repeatedly, it’s no longer a mistake—it’s a habit. And let’s be honest, Meghan Markle seems to have a few bad habits. One of them? She doesn’t listen. Another? She never learns. Rumor has it that Meghan has abandoned her latest venture, American Riviera Orchard (better known as DOA—Dead on Arrival). This doesn’t come as a surprise, given her numerous failed attempts to secure trademarks and the tumbleweeds blowing through her Instagram, which has been inactive for nearly a year.
But like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Meghan appears to be rebounding with a brand-new brand on the horizon. Word on the street is that she’s launching a new company called As Ever.
Now, back to Meghan Markle. When I say she never learns from her mistakes, I mean it. She continues to make the same elementary errors over and over again. It’s embarrassing. How does someone with her wealth, fame, and an entire team of professionals keep messing up so badly? If you’re new to my channel, you should know I have a strong background in business and marketing. I’ve owned and run several businesses, hold an MBA, and own two trademarks and a copyright. So, when I talk about marketing, business, and trademarks, I know what I’m talking about. And that’s why I’m baffled by Meghan’s repeated blunders.
This isn’t just about American Riviera Orchard. She’s made similar mistakes with almost every brand she’s attempted to launch. It’s why she has a graveyard of abandoned projects. Meghan Markle has what I call a “minimum wage work ethic” but wants a million-dollar business. You can’t have a million-dollar business without putting in the work. She wants the reward before planting the seeds—she wants to pick the fruit before the trees have even been planted. Success doesn’t happen overnight, and Meghan seems to rely solely on her titles, fame, and connections, expecting quick results. But that’s not how it works.
Take Jessica Simpson, for example. People often dismiss her as a “dumb blonde,” but she’s built a nearly billion-dollar empire. Then there’s Paris Hilton, worth almost a billion dollars, and Gwyneth Paltrow with Goop. Remember the infamous vagina candle? Love it or hate it, it was a bestseller, and she’s made millions from it. These women have worked hard to build their empires, investing their own money and time. Meghan, on the other hand, seems to think she can replicate their success without putting in the effort.
Now, let’s talk about As Ever. Meghan reportedly filed a trademark application for this new brand on October 13, 2022, but it was denied because it was unsigned. Sound familiar? This is the same mistake she’s made at least three times before. How does someone with her resources not sign a trademark application? Does she not have a lawyer or an assistant to handle these details? It’s baffling.
Fast forward to September 2024, and she’s resubmitted the application. This time, there are two versions: one in bold print and one in cursive, along with a logo featuring a palm tree and two lovebirds (or mockingbirds—I’m not sure). The timing is interesting because American Riviera Orchard officially died in March 2024. Coincidence? I think not. It seems Meghan and her team were scrambling to secure a new trademark after realizing ARO was a lost cause.
The logo, however, raises eyebrows. It appears to be a copy of the coat of arms from a city in Spain, Pereza Mallorca. Meghan simply swapped out the doves for what look like mockingbirds. From a branding perspective, this makes no sense. Palm trees and lovebirds? For a cookware brand? It feels more like a Tommy Bahama clothing line than a lifestyle brand. And the name As Ever? It’s juvenile. It sounds like something a teenager would come up with—like “As if!” from Clueless. Meghan, you’re a 43-year-old duchess and mother of two. It’s time to elevate your brand.
Speaking of elevation, Meghan’s style could use an upgrade too. She often dresses like she’s stuck in her teenage years, wearing cutesy jewelry and outfits more suited for someone in their 20s. As a duchess, she should be embracing elegance and sophistication. Less is more, Meghan.
Now, let’s talk about the timeline. I believe Meghan had planned to launch As Ever much sooner, but the Queen’s passing in September 2022 threw a wrench in her plans. Remember when 2022 was supposed to be Meghan’s “year of visibility”? She released Archetypes in August 2022, sat down for The Cut interview, and even hinted at returning to Instagram. But after the Queen’s death, everything was put on hold. Fast forward to 2024, and Meghan is desperately trying to rebrand herself as an independent entrepreneur. She wants to be Megan, not Harry and Meghan. But As Ever? It’s a miss.
In conclusion, Meghan Markle’s repeated mistakes and lack of originality are holding her back. She needs to put in the work, learn from her errors, and stop relying on quick fixes. As for As Ever, it’s hard to say if it will stick. The trademark is still pending, and given her track record, there’s no guarantee it will succeed. What do you think? Will As Ever be a hit or another flop? Let me know in the comments below.
