Prince Harry Faces New Challenges as Invictus Games in Canada Nears Conclusion
Prince Harry may encounter fresh difficulties upon his return home after concluding the Invictus Games in Canada. The Duke of Sussex, who has been actively participating in the event following Meghan Markle’s return to California to care for their children, now finds himself entangled in a renewed legal battle over his US visa.
The Heritage Foundation initially filed the case in 2020 against the Department of Homeland Security, alleging that Prince Harry received preferential treatment in his US immigration application despite his past admissions of drug use. Although a federal judge previously ruled in Harry’s favor, the case was reopened after Donald Trump assumed the US presidency in January.
Judge Carl Nichols has since warned Prince Harry that his visa application details could be disclosed. Court documents indicate that a hearing is scheduled for Thursday, February 20, during which the US government will determine which legal documents related to the case can be made public.
Despite the legal turmoil, Prince Harry remains focused on supporting participants at the Invictus Games in Vancouver and Whistler. The adaptive sports event is set to conclude with a closing ceremony on Sunday, February 16, 2025. It is still unclear whether Meghan Markle will attend the high-profile event.
As the Invictus Games draw to a close, all eyes are on Prince Harry, both for his role in the event and the unfolding legal drama surrounding his US visa. The outcome of the hearing could have significant implications for the Duke of Sussex’s future in the United States.
