Prince Harry’s Life in California: Far from a Fairytale?
Prince Harry may publicly express enthusiasm for his life in California, but according to a royal expert, the Duke of Sussex is reportedly feeling "bored" and unfulfilled in the United States.
Royal author Tom Quinn, known for his book *Yes Ma’am*, shared with *The Sun* that Harry’s close friends acknowledge that his new life isn’t as exciting or fulfilling as he had hoped.
A key issue, Quinn explains, is Harry’s lack of a clear purpose.
*"From childhood, Harry was trained to be a royal—attending charitable events, engaging with the public, and embracing a structured role. Now, he has walked away from all of that, and it has left him with a void,"* Quinn stated.
While Harry has made efforts to adapt, sources suggest he is struggling to find meaning in his daily life.
*"Friends say he’s doing his best—helping around their Montecito mansion, taking care of the children, and walking the dog,"* Quinn added.
However, the reality seems less glamorous. *"The truth is, he's bored. He can’t leave home without a security team, and his neighbors—many of whom are bigger celebrities than him—barely pay attention when they see him in public."*
Despite these claims, Prince Harry himself has painted a very different picture of his life in America. At an event in December, he spoke about how his new environment provides him with more **privacy, freedom, and opportunities** that he believes wouldn’t be possible in the UK.
Additionally, he expressed that his late mother, Princess Diana, would have supported his decision to move.
When asked about his long-term plans, Harry affirmed his commitment to California. *"I love living here and raising my children in this environment,"* he said.
Although Harry enjoys life in the U.S., he has also expressed a deep desire for his children, Archie and Lilibet, to stay connected to their British heritage. He hopes they will spend time in the UK and get to know his home country.
While opinions differ on whether California is the dream life Harry envisioned, one thing remains clear—his journey is still evolving.
