Prince William Hosts Key Meeting as Harry Departs

Kensington Palace Releases Prince William’s New Video as Prince Harry Heads to Canada for Invictus Games

Prince William recently hosted a significant meeting with five young innovators at Windsor Castle, just as Prince Harry prepares for the upcoming Invictus Games in Canada. The event showcased the winners of the prestigious Blue Peter Earthshot Competition, who presented their planet-saving ideas to the Prince of Wales.

Selected from nearly 2,000 entries submitted by children across the UK, these young environmentalists, aged between eight and 12, shared their innovative concepts with Prince William. Following their presentation at Windsor Castle, the winners also showcased their ideas at the Speaker’s House in the House of Commons.

During the meeting, Prince William and the children participated in a special “Here’s One I Made Earlier” moment, crafting Earthshot-themed eco-friendly bird feeders together. The future King also awarded certificates to the young innovators, recognizing their remarkable achievements. The children seized the opportunity to engage directly with the Prince of Wales, asking him questions about pressing environmental issues.

The Blue Peter competition encouraged children to submit ideas addressing one of the five Earthshot goals, focusing on solutions to protect and restore the planet. Prince William’s meeting with the winners highlights his ongoing commitment to environmental causes and inspiring the next generation of changemakers.

This event comes as Prince Harry’s Invictus Games prepares to make history this week by introducing winter sports for the first time. The 2025 edition of the Games will be hosted in Vancouver and Whistler, marking a new chapter for the international sporting event.

The Games will officially begin with a star-studded opening ceremony on February 8, featuring performances by Coldplay’s Chris Martin and pop icon Katy Perry. This year’s event will see participation from 23 nations, including newcomers Lithuania and Brazil, underscoring the growing global impact of the Invictus Games.

Founded by the Duke of Sussex in 2014, the Invictus Games have become a cornerstone of support for wounded veterans. Outgoing Invictus Games CEO Dominic Reid praised Prince Harry’s unwavering dedication to the foundation, stating, “It is very important to him as a soldier, and it’s very important to him as a person.”

As Prince William continues to champion environmental innovation and Prince Harry gears up for the Invictus Games, both royals remain committed to their respective causes, inspiring positive change on a global scale.
