Invictus Games Participants Share Unexpected Detail About Meeting Meghan Markle and Prince Harry
Meghan Markle has made a lasting impression on participants at the Invictus Games following an unexpected encounter with the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry.
The couple has been a constant presence at the nine-day event, attending multiple activities and engaging with attendees. During the Vancouver leg of the Games, Meghan and Harry surprised teams by showing up during breakfast on the first official day.
Despite their packed schedule, the royal pair took time to connect with fans and participants, leaving a memorable mark on those they met.
Bryce Ewing, a member of the USA Team competing in snowboarding, swimming, rowing, and seated volleyball, described the Sussexes as “so down to earth” after their interaction. Ewing also shared a surprising observation about Meghan during their brief meeting.
“When Meghan looks at you, she really looks at you, and you feel it in your soul,” Ewing told *People Magazine*. “She’s really caring. She’s very intuitive. She's so down to earth, and she looks like she really cares.”
Ewing added that despite being pulled in different directions, Meghan and Harry made an effort to stay engaged. “People were pulling them away, but they were still trying to sit and talk,” she said.
The athlete also noted how attentive the couple was to small details. “They just notice little things,” Ewing explained. “One of our friends had a picture of her mom and dad in the back of her phone case, and as she was walking away, Meghan said, ‘Oh, I really like that picture.’ They noticed everything, and they were just so happy to be there.”
Prince Harry and Meghan have since moved on to Whistler, where they will attend the remaining events of the Invictus Games. Their genuine interactions and heartfelt moments continue to highlight their commitment to the Games and its participants.
