Australian TV Host Calls Meghan Markle a ‘Tosser’ in Live Broadcast

Australian TV Host Calls Meghan Markle a ‘Tosser’ in Live Broadcast

Australian TV Host Natalie Barr Criticizes Meghan Markle, Calling Her a "Tosser" Live on Air

Australian morning show host Natalie Barr didn’t hold back her thoughts about Meghan Markle during a recent broadcast. Following the Duchess of Sussex’s candid interview with *The Cut*, Barr openly criticized Markle, labeling her a “tosser” and claiming she’s “full of it.”

Barr, known for her straightforward opinions, expressed her frustration while speaking to her co-host David Koch. “I couldn’t even stomach getting through the whole article,” she admitted. “I think in Australia, we’d say she’s just full of it. She’s a tosser. She’s a total tosser. That’s how we would describe her. I just can’t… the way she speaks.”

Another host on the show, Edwina Bartholomew, offered a more sympathetic perspective, suggesting that Markle’s narrative might resonate differently in the U.S. compared to the U.K. “I think she has a very different narrative, perhaps, in the U.S. to what is being accepted in the U.K.,” Bartholomew said.

Barr quickly countered, “Or just everywhere in the world!” as Koch humorously added, “That’s Eddie’s code for tosser!”

In her interview with *The Cut*, Meghan Markle opened up about the challenges she and Prince Harry faced due to the British tabloid press. She revealed how the media scrutiny had strained her relationship with her father, Thomas Markle, and impacted their family life.

“Harry said to me, ‘I lost my dad in this process.’ It doesn’t have to be the same for them as it was for me, but that’s his decision,” Markle shared in the magazine’s Fall Fashion issue.

This isn’t the first time Australian TV personalities have targeted Markle. Last week, *Today* host Karl Stefanovic faced backlash for laughing at Markle’s revelation about a nursery fire scare during her royal tour of South Africa in 2019.

Stefanovic questioned co-host Allison Langdon, “So, just to get this right. The baby’s, what, not even there?” Langdon clarified, “The nanny had taken the baby from the room before the fire ignited.”

Stefanovic scoffed, “So, the baby’s not there when the fire catches, right? And because the baby wasn’t there, she was going to have difficulties going to a function?” He then muttered, “Oh my god,” sparking criticism from viewers.

Amid the ongoing media attention, Meghan Markle recently launched the first episode of her podcast, *Archetypes*, on August 23. The podcast is part of her multi-million dollar deal with Spotify and is produced by Archewell Audio, the production company she founded with Prince Harry.

The series aims to explore and challenge stereotypes that hold women back, marking another step in Markle’s efforts to carve out her own path outside the royal family.

As debates about Markle’s public persona continue, her actions and words remain a topic of global discussion, with opinions divided across different regions.
