It’s being reported that Meghan Markle is allegedly copying yet another brand, this time a company called Flamingo Estate Ranch.
Flamingo Estate Ranch, owned by Richard Christiansen (pictured on the left), has been making headlines as the latest brand Meghan is accused of imitating. However, Christiansen himself has come forward to set the record straight, and his response might surprise you.
In a recent statement, Christiansen made it clear that he doesn’t see Meghan’s actions as copying. In fact, he’s a self-proclaimed fan of hers. Here’s what he had to say:
“I’m a big, big fan of hers. I guess she didn’t steal it, did she? I’m excited to see where her plans go. I’m very excited. I think there’s enough sunshine for all the flowers, so I’m excited for everyone that works with nature and the garden. Yeah, I’m very excited. It should be great.”
Not only that, but Christiansen also dismissed the idea that Meghan stole his brand, saying:
“No, I don’t think so. I wouldn’t be here today if I didn’t draw inspiration from Martha Stewart and all the people who’ve done this before me. So, I welcome everyone to copy us.”
Christiansen even hinted at the possibility of working with Meghan in the future, adding:
“I do want to do something together with Meghan Markle, like a collaboration.”
He ended his statement by saying, “I give all my friends tips.”
While it’s unclear what kind of “tips” Christiansen would offer Meghan, it’s evident that he’s supportive of her endeavors. Some might even say he’s part of her unofficial fan club—or as some royal watchers call it, the “Sussex Squad.”
The idea that Meghan is copying Flamingo Estate Ranch seems to be more of a media narrative than a reality. Christiansen himself doesn’t see it as copying but rather as drawing inspiration—a common practice in the world of branding and entrepreneurship.
As Christiansen pointed out, he himself drew inspiration from icons like Martha Stewart. In his view, there’s room for everyone in the market, and he welcomes others to take inspiration from his work.
Interestingly, this whole situation might actually benefit both parties. For Christiansen, the attention surrounding the alleged “copying” has brought more visibility to Flamingo Estate Ranch. For Meghan, it’s another opportunity to showcase her growing influence in the lifestyle and wellness space.
While the headlines might suggest that Meghan Markle is copying Flamingo Estate Ranch, the reality is far less dramatic. Richard Christiansen has made it clear that he doesn’t see her actions as theft but as inspiration. In fact, he’s open to collaborating with her in the future.
So, is Meghan copying another brand? According to Christiansen, the answer is no. And with his support, it seems this story is more about mutual admiration than controversy.
