Meghan Markle made charity bosses unforgettable with change of plans
Meghan Markle’s last-minute switch-up has landed her in hot water with Sentebale’s top boss, who’s now accusing her of rewriting the script.
The Duchess of Sussex had originally RSVP’d “no” to a charity polo event in 2023, only to roll up unexpectedly with her pal Serena Williams in tow. Sentebale’s director, Dr Sophie Chandauka, didn’t hold back when she dished to SkyNews about the chaos that followed. “We would’ve been thrilled if she’d given us a heads-up,” she said. “But nope, we were totally in the dark.”
“And boy, did it show,” she added. “The whole thing turned into a mess on stage—too many bodies, zero coordination. The international press ate it up, buzzing about Meghan, the stage flub, and whether she even belonged there, plus how she handled me.”
Dr Chandauka didn’t stop there. She made it crystal clear that Sentebale isn’t a cheerleading squad for the Sussexes. “Prince Harry pushed me to put out a statement backing Meghan, and I flat-out refused,” she revealed. “It’s not that I don’t care about her—it’s just that I saw the fallout coming a mile away. Plus, we’re not here to be an arm of the Sussex operation.”
