Meghan Markle’s Cooking Show Savaged by Irish Priest in Viral Rant

If you’re searching for a new way to test your endurance this Lent, Father Brendan Kilcoyne has a suggestion—watching With Love, Meghan, Meghan Markle’s latest attempt at a Netflix documentary.

Yes, you read that right. A Catholic priest—a man well-versed in suffering and redemption—has jokingly proposed that sitting through Markle’s show could qualify as an act of penance.

Speaking on his podcast, The Brendan Option, Father Kilcoyne didn’t mince words. He labeled the show “bl**dy awful”—which, in Irish priest terms, is the equivalent of setting it on fire and hurling it into the Atlantic.

One of the so-called “highlights” he referenced? A scene where Meghan engages in a conversation with a beekeeper. According to Father Kilcoyne, even the bees appeared embarrassed by the sheer dullness of the exchange.

The priest didn’t stop there. He suggested that the British royal family narrowly avoided disaster when Meghan and Prince Harry stepped away. In his view, the monarchy must possess an instinctive defense mechanism—one that expels anything posing a threat to its dignity.

And in this case, that threat was Meghan Markle. Or, as Father Kilcoyne poetically described her: “Nemesis. The anti-monarchy.”

That’s right—the same royal institution that has survived civil wars, scandals, and multiple Prince Andrews somehow recognized Meghan Markle as a grave existential threat and hit the eject button.

For those observing Lent, traditional sacrifices like fasting and self-reflection might not be enough. So, Father Kilcoyne generously recommended watching With Love, Meghan as the ultimate spiritual test.

Want to take it a step further? He suggested truly embracing the experience—drink in the mediocrity, savor the nothingness, and when you reach that inevitable moment of existential despair, remind yourself: You’re doing this for God.

If this trend catches on, we may soon see priests replacing traditional penance with a Meghan Markle binge session:

"Say three Hail Marys, five Our Fathers, and endure two episodes of With Love, Meghan.”

But how does one calculate the level of atonement? Does one episode cleanse minor sins, like gossiping? Does watching the entire series absolve major offenses, like tax evasion? And most importantly—has any sinner ever deserved that much suffering?

In a final flourish of poetic critique, Father Kilcoyne dubbed Meghan “Her Muchness of Sussex”—a title that, quite frankly, deserves its own Netflix special.

And in a plea that may resonate with royalists everywhere, he asked for divine intervention:

"God in heaven, protect His Majesty from that. Nobody deserves that."

When even an Irish Catholic priest is defending the royal family from you, it’s safe to say things have taken an unexpected turn.

It seems Father Kilcoyne has uncovered a new level of spiritual insight—one where Meghan Markle’s content is officially recognized as a test of endurance.
