Prince Harry Faces Potential Travel Troubles Over Past Drug Confessions
Prince Harry could soon face difficulties when traveling across the U.S. border due to past admissions about drug use in his memoir Spare.
The Duke of Sussex, who has lived in the U.S. since 2020, may be subject to questioning by immigration authorities regarding his revelations about past drug use. Heritage Foundation expert Nile Gardiner has warned that the prince may not receive special treatment under current immigration policies.
"He should be questioned at the U.S. border when he returns from wherever he travels," Gardiner told The Sun, emphasizing that the substances Harry admitted to using are illegal in the United States.
He added: "This is a new era of immigration enforcement in the U.S., and the rules are being strictly enforced by the new administration."
Prince Harry’s immigration status has been a topic of debate ever since he publicly admitted to using drugs such as marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms in Spare. The Heritage Foundation has been pushing for the release of his visa application, arguing that U.S. law requires full disclosure of drug use and that any false statements could have legal consequences.
Since stepping back from royal life in 2020, Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have built a new life in California with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. However, their departure from the royal family was marked by controversy, including allegations of racism and a highly publicized fallout with the monarchy.
Now, with increasing scrutiny on U.S. immigration policies, Harry’s past admissions may come back to haunt him, potentially impacting his ability to travel freely in and out of the country.
