Meghan Markle has opened up about a "scary" health battle, shedding light on a deeply personal experience following the recent cancer diagnoses of King Charles and Princess Kate.
On April 8, the Duchess of Sussex launched the premiere episode of her latest podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder. The episode featured Whitney Wolfe Herd, the founder of a well-known dating app, as her guest. Together, the two women dove into the challenges and triumphs of starting a business, discussing everything from the pressures of entrepreneurship to the unexpected obstacles along the way.
During their heartfelt exchange, Meghan revealed a vulnerable side of her journey, speaking candidly about a "scary" health condition she faced during her postpartum period. She explained how she and Whitney, who welcomed their children around the same time, shared strikingly similar experiences despite not knowing each other back then.
Reflecting on her ordeal, Meghan, who is married to Prince Harry, shared, "We both had very similar experiences — though we didn’t know each other at the time — with postpartum, and we both had preeclampsia. Postpartum preeclampsia. It’s so rare and so scary."
She went on to elaborate, "And you’re still trying to juggle all of these things, and the world doesn’t know what’s happening quietly. And in the quiet, you’re still trying to show up for people – mostly for your children — but those things are huge medical scares."
Meghan’s rare comments about her terrifying health struggle come at a poignant time, as the royal family navigates a troubling cancer crisis. Her openness adds a personal layer to the ongoing narrative surrounding the royals, resonating with listeners who may also face silent battles of their own.
