Celebrity ghostwriter Joshua Lisec recently shared insights into the potential success of a second memoir by Prince Harry. Speaking with Showbiz Cheat Sheet, Lisec pointed out a major obstacle: "Any second memoir faces an obvious problem — if you had an interesting story to tell, you would have told it in the first book."
Currently, neither Harry nor his representatives have officially announced a second book. However, speculation continues to swirl given Harry's ongoing tensions with the royal family.
Why Meghan Markle Might Step In to Save the Project
Lisec, who has co-authored over 90 books, believes that a second memoir by Harry could struggle to achieve the same impact as Spare. He suggests that unless there are significant new revelations, a follow-up would likely be seen as repetitive and face comparisons that would not favorably match the first book in terms of both content and sales.
Given that much of Prince Harry’s life is already public knowledge, there may be little new material to sustain readers’ interest.
However, Lisec notes that a memoir from Meghan Markle could generate far more excitement. “Any new revelations would likely be better received in a book by Meghan Markle, rather than one by her husband,” he explained. Especially if Meghan were to disclose undisclosed details about her time within the royal family, the public and media interest could be enormous.
