Meghan Markle’s Public Persona Questioned Amid Sharp Drop in Royal Popularity

Meghan Markle’s Public Persona Questioned Amid Sharp Drop in Royal Popularity

Meghan Markle’s “Happier Than Ever” Claim Questioned Amid Declining Popularity

Meghan Markle says she’s “happier than ever,” but experts question her public image as approval ratings for her and Prince Harry plummet in the UK.

Royal Image Under Pressure as Sussexes Struggle with Public Perception

Meghan Markle recently claimed she’s “happier than ever” living in California, but according to PR experts and polling data, the public may not be convinced. As her and Prince Harry’s approval ratings continue to slide in the UK, royal commentators are suggesting that her confident public image could be a calculated strategy.

PR Expert Says Meghan Is “Controlling the Narrative”

In a statement to Express.co.uk, public relations strategist Edward Coram-James commented on Meghan’s appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, where the Duchess spoke about her fulfilling life in Los Angeles with Harry, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet.

“It’s a clever way to take control of her narrative,” Coram-James explained. “Meghan wants to project strength and happiness, especially under scrutiny.”

Popularity Ratings Tell a Different Story

Despite the couple’s efforts to appear united and content, the numbers suggest a disconnect with the public. A YouGov poll conducted in March revealed Prince Harry holds a net favourability score of -31, while Meghan Markle ranks near the bottom of the royal list with -47.

Coram-James pointed out, “There’s no way Meghan is genuinely thrilled about those results. It’s likely part of a broader PR effort to reset their public image.”

“The Window Is Closing,” PR Expert Warns

The expert went on to say that time is running out for Harry and Meghan to repair their reputations—particularly in the UK, where public support has dropped significantly since their royal exit and ongoing controversies.

“They’re not beyond redemption yet,” Coram-James said. “But that door is closing fast if they continue to remain in the American celebrity ecosystem without bridging ties back to the royal family.”

Harry Still Hopes to Rebuild Royal Ties

Just hours before Meghan posted a black-and-white photo of Harry with their children, the Duke of Sussex appeared in a BBC interview, expressing his desire to reconcile with his father, King Charles III.

“Life is precious,” Harry said. “I don’t know how much longer my father has… It would be nice to reconcile.”

These comments came shortly after Harry lost his legal battle seeking enhanced police protection during visits to the UK.

Family First? Public Image vs. Private Reality

Public posts as well as interviews showcase how the Sussexes present their happy American family life. The photograph posted by Meghan featuring Harry and their children seems to form part of an ongoing campaign to portray their family as contemporary yet approachable.

However, critics argue that public sentiment—especially in Britain—may take more than polished images and upbeat interviews to rebuild.
