Prince Harry’s Public Image Could Improve If He Takes Accountability, Claims Expert

Prince Harry Criticized for Blaming Others Instead of Taking Responsibility, Says Royal Expert

Prince Harry faces criticism from royal expert Hugo Vickers, who says the Duke avoids accountability and blames others after losing his UK security court battle.

Royal Biographer Claims Prince Harry Avoids Accountability After Legal Defeat

Prince Harry is once again under scrutiny from royal experts who claim the Duke of Sussex consistently avoids taking accountability for his actions, instead pointing fingers at others. The comments come after Harry recently lost a high-profile legal battle regarding his personal security in the UK.

Prince Harry’s Court Case Loss Sparks New Wave of Criticism

The Duke of Sussex had fought for over three years to reinstate taxpayer-funded security for himself and his family while visiting the UK. However, after losing the appeal, he gave a candid interview to BBC News, in which he claimed that if anything were to happen to him or his loved ones, the blame would fall squarely on the British monarchy—often referred to as “The Firm.”

Harry Says Royal Family Responsible for His Family’s Safety Concerns

In the interview, Prince Harry argued that he does not feel safe returning to the UK with Meghan Markle, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet without proper security. He emphasized that the responsibility for their safety lies with those in power—implying the Royal Family failed to meet its duty of care.

Hugo Vickers: "Harry Always Plays the Blame Game"

Veteran broadcaster and royal biographer Hugo Vickers, 72, responded to Harry’s remarks, suggesting the Prince often deflects blame rather than accepting his own role in the fallout with the monarchy.

“I think he’s pointing the finger pretty much at all of us really,” Vickers told The Sun. “He wants to attribute blame to everybody else. He never seems to accept that he, himself, has done quite a few things which, on the whole, we do not really like.”

Ongoing Debate Over Accountability and Public Perception

The backlash follows what many royal observers see as a pattern of behavior. Critics argue that Prince Harry frequently presents himself as a victim, rather than acknowledging the consequences of his decisions—such as stepping back from royal duties and engaging in public criticism of the monarchy.

After the court's decision, Harry expressed deep disappointment, highlighting that the ruling has left him and his family feeling exposed during UK visits. The statement, however, did little to quell criticism from commentators who feel it’s time for the Prince to reflect inward rather than outward.
