Royal Expert Calls Out Meghan and Harry for Hypocrisy
Royal expert Katie Nicholl spoke out against the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, calling their actions hypocritical. “I think it just poses a bit of a hypocrisy element,” Nicholl remarked, highlighting the contradiction between their ongoing criticism of the Royal Family and their desire to retain royal privileges.
Attacking the Royal Institution While Benefiting from It
In a recent podcast, Meghan and Harry again voiced their discontent with the monarchy. Katie Nicholl pointed out the inconsistency of the couple’s actions: “A big issue is that you’ve attacked this institution many, many times, most recently in a podcast, which we've just heard this week.”
At the same time, the couple still enjoys the benefits of their titles and royal status, including the use of the HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) title, which many feel they no longer deserve given their stance.
Meghan’s Title and the HRH Debate
Meghan Markle, now known as Meghan Sussex after her marriage to Harry, has also been under scrutiny for her continued use of the HRH title. Katie Nicholl further emphasized: “She doesn’t need to be using the HRH title.” While Meghan maintains that she is no longer a Markle, as she took Harry's last name after marriage, the royal expert argues that she should relinquish all titles associated with the monarchy if she truly wants to separate from it.
