A New Housing Project for Young Adults
One of the properties owned by the Duchy of Cornwall will be turned into 16 affordable flats. These homes are especially for young people aged 18 to 25 who are either working or trying to find work. It’s not just about giving them a roof—it’s about helping them get back on their feet for good.

The homes in Lambeth will be managed by Centrepoint, a charity that supports young homeless people. Prince William has been their patron since 2005, so this partnership is close to his heart. Rent will be based on the person’s income, and residents will also receive support to become more independent.
What’s Homewards?
Homewards is a five-year program launched in 2023 by Prince William and The Royal Foundation. Lambeth is one of six trial locations, alongside places like Sheffield, Aberdeen, and Northern Ireland. The aim? To make homelessness something that is “rare, brief, and not repeated.”

The project has powerful backing. Lloyds Bank is investing £50 million into more than 100 projects across these six areas. Local councils and community partners are also involved, working together to create long-lasting solutions.
