Criticism Prince Harry is facing for allegedly overshadowing his brother, Prince William, during an important royal event.
On the 80th anniversary of VE Day, Harry laid a wreath at the Burma Memorial. While this act might have been meant as a personal tribute, royal expert Robert Jobson believes it was more of a PR stunt than a genuine gesture.
Jobson explained that if Harry truly wanted it to be a quiet, respectful act, he could have left the wreath without making it public. He suggested the way it was presented felt “too slick” and part of a bigger plan to reshape Harry’s image — which he referred to as “Operation Rebuild Harry.”
The timing made the move even more controversial. King Charles was deeply emotional at the main commemoration, with Queen Camilla moved to tears. Jobson argued that the day should have been about the King and also Prince William and Princess Catherine, not Harry’s separate appearance.
Prince Harry is being accused of trying to grab attention and outshine Prince William on a day meant to honor the King and the wider royal family. What could have been seen as a quiet act of respect instead came across as a calculated PR move, sparking backlash and renewed criticism of Harry’s public image.
