Royal Expert Questions Why Meghan Markle Has Gone Quiet
Meghan Markle is facing new scrutiny from royal commentator Dr. Tessa Dunlop, who’s asking why the Duchess hasn’t spoken up in support of Prince Harry during his latest controversy.
The discussion began when Dr. Dunlop revisited Meghan’s past comments about “finding her voice” after stepping away from the Royal Family. She linked it to the Sussexes’ recent Netflix deal renewal — reportedly a looser and less lucrative agreement than their original $78 million contract.
Dunlop questioned whether Meghan would use that same “found” voice now, not just to promote her Netflix lifestyle brand As Ever, but to speak out about the Sentebale charity scandal involving Harry. The Prince recently faced accusations from the charity’s chairwoman, which led to his resignation in March 2025 — claims some trustees have called baseless.
“What’s strange,” Dunlop pointed out, “is that Harry has always defended Meghan publicly, even against his family’s wishes, especially when it came to harsh media coverage. But now, when he’s in the firing line, Meghan hasn’t offered him the same public support.”
In Dunlop’s view, if Meghan could speak her truth about the Royal Family, she could also speak up for her husband in this moment. Her silence, the commentator suggests, feels at odds with the strong, vocal stance Meghan once championed.
