A former royal butler, Grant Harrold, has opened up about Prince Harry’s past relationships within the royal family, and what he says is very different from the picture Harry painted in his memoir Spare.
Harrold, who worked for the royals between 2004 and 2011, shared that Harry and Kate Middleton once shared a close bond. According to him, Kate and Harry often spent time together when Prince William was busy. They would go shopping, visit pubs, and hang out casually, showing a side of royal life that the public rarely sees. This paints Harry not as an outsider, but as someone who was welcomed and involved.
Harrold also spoke about Harry’s relationship with Queen Camilla. While Harry claimed in his book that he and William opposed their father’s marriage and struggled with Camilla’s presence, Harrold remembers things very differently. He insists the four of them—Harry, William, Kate, and Camilla—actually got along very well. He recalls seeing them sharing dinners, drinks, and even celebrating together at parties. Read More
One striking example Harrold gave was from King Charles and Camilla’s wedding. While Harry wrote that he and William begged their father not to marry her, Harrold says he saw both brothers happily decorating their father’s car with “Just Married” signs and even chasing after the car playfully as the newlyweds drove away.
