This is Meredith Maines, the eleventh press secretary for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The announcement of her departure from the position of communications director at Archewell Philanthropies, the organization representing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, was made on Friday, December 26, 2025. A source told Page Six that Meredith Maines had resigned before Christmas but would remain on staff until the end of the year to facilitate the transition.
Yet another controversy surrounding the couple cost her her job, even though she hadn't been there a year. Meredith Maines resigned after the Kris Jenner birthday party scandal, which generated a lot of media attention. Maines had to deal with all the negative public backlash the couple faced. "She's unflappable and never complains... she really enjoyed her time there, but at a certain point, it's time to move on," a source close to Maines told Page Six.

On November 8th, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended Kris Jenner's 70th birthday party in Beverly Hills, at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's villa. The Kardashian family, BeyoncĂ©, Bill Gates, Paris Hilton, Mark Zuckerberg, and numerous other celebrities gathered at the $175 million (€148.6 million) estate. After the party, Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner shared photos of the event on Instagram, but these were quickly deleted.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly requested their removal. This ostentatious birthday celebration clashes with the values the British royal family wants to promote. "They don't want to alienate the royal family while they're trying to reconcile," a source told Page Six. However, having to delete Instagram posts didn't sit well with the Kardashian clan. They were annoyed that the couple was "overshadowing" what was supposed to be "a celebration of Kris."
