Royal news: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Skip Christmas in Britain—Here’s Why

The health concerns of the British court have not affected who is invited to celebrate the royal Christmas. Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have been conspicuous by their absence from the royal Christmas in recent years. After a difficult year for the court, royal fans have wondered if this year would finally change.

However, according to People magazine, those who hoped for that will be disappointed. Inside sources claim to the magazine that Harry and Meghan have not been invited to spend Christmas in Sandringham. The magazine's claims were reported by Fox News, among others.

The rest of the family is therefore spending Christmas together in the traditional way without the duke and duchess. According to press reports, Harry and Meghan are spending Christmas in the United States, where they live with their children.

Harry and Meghan have not participated in the royal Christmas celebration since 2018, when they got married.

The British royals traditionally gather in Sandringham in Norfolk for Christmas celebrations. Last year, King Charles hosted Christmas celebrations for the first time since his coronation.

He and Queen Camilla attended the Christmas Eve morning service at St Mary Magdalene Church. On the way, the king also had time to greet the public who had come.

Prince William and Princess Catherine and their children joined the Christmas celebrations after the service at Sandringham Estate.

Harry and Meghan spent Christmas at their home in Los Angeles.
