The stunning Givenchy look was paired with black pumps that were noticeably loose. According to fashion expert Harriet Davey, there's a good reason for the shoes to be ill-fitting: "Celebrities often go up a size or two when attending an event or walking the red carpet, and it's for a reason we can all understand—to avoid blisters," Harriet told The Sun. "There's nothing worse than uncomfortable shoes, and when celebrities like Meghan wear heels for extended periods, their feet can often swell."
This makes sense, especially for someone who spends so much time in heels. Meghan has been working on this fashion trick for a while now; even the shoes she wore in her official engagement photo with Harry in November 2017 looked too big. So how does Meghan (and other celebrities who use the same trick) keep her shoes from slipping? Harriet Davey tells us:
"The trick is to stuff the toe with padding like fabric or wadding, and this can be removed once they feel they need a little more room in their shoes." Now you know!
