A New Beginning. After several years at the royal estate of Adelaide Cottage, Kate Middleton and Prince William have chosen to pack their bags and move to Forest Lodge with their three children, George, Charlotte, and Louis, at the end of October 2025. This move helps to erase the memory of recent difficult years, marked in particular by the death of Queen Elizabeth II and the Princess of Wales's battle with cancer, from which she is now in remission.
While in Scotland on January 20, 2026, Kate Middleton took advantage of a gathering at a local pub to reveal a detail about the decor of Princess Charlotte's new bedroom.
A Unique Peek at the New Bedroom
During a trip with Prince William to showcase Scottish traditions, Kate Middleton met with several members of the community at the community pub "The Gothenburg," nicknamed "The Goth," located near Stirling. One of them, Adele Hodgson, presented Princess Charlotte with a crocheted bunny.
"Well done, that must have taken you a lot of time," the Princess of Wales said, according to Marie Claire UK in an article published on January 21, 2026. She then thanked the 70-year-old Scottish woman, noting that her daughter "will love it," and shared an adorable glimpse of her daughter's princess bedroom. "She has lots of teddy bears on her bed," she added.
A Well-Chosen Decor
According to information published by the Daily Mail in November 2025, Kate Middleton has added a truly personal touch to the decor of her new home. She was notably spotted choosing a 24-seater dining table in an antique warehouse and reportedly opted for patterned upholstery fabrics from the British brand Marina Mill.
When interviewed by the Daily Mail, interior design expert Benji Lexie compared the style of the Forest Lodge house to a "contemporary classic." "Similarly, the antique furniture reflects a pragmatic approach, favoring what already exists rather than starting from scratch and embarking on a shopping spree. (...) Given the style of the house, it's a wise choice because it's not at all ostentatious, while still being undeniably refined, elegant, and thoughtful."
