Almost a week has passed, and we still can't get Meghan Markle's Oscar de la Renta dress out of our heads, the one she wore to promote a podcast for her foundation. Prince Harry's wife reappeared after announcing her pregnancy, wearing a lemon-print design valued at €3,000. Despite opting for a haute couture dress, the Duchess didn't want to miss the opportunity to highlight her commitment to environmental responsibility. To complete her outfit, Meghan Markle chose a sustainable gold, sapphire, and diamond ring.
Meghan Markle's Sustainable Sapphire, Diamond, and Gold Ring
Meghan Markle returned to public life sporting a stunning pink sapphire and diamond ring on the middle finger of her right hand. This is an exclusive piece from the Canadian firm Ecksand, one of Meghan Markle's favorite jewelry brands. However, the most remarkable aspect of this ring isn't its color or elegant design, but rather its sustainability.
Ecksand is known for its strong commitment to the environment. All of its jewelry is crafted in its Canadian workshop using non-polluting techniques and 100% recycled gold and gemstones.
Its strong commitment to sustainable jewelry
In Meghan's case, the ring is made of 18-karat recycled yellow gold, with a 6-carat pink sapphire and an additional 0.2 carats of diamonds. Its price is €1,170, although it can currently be found on the brand's website for €994.
“We are incredibly honored that Meghan chose to wear one of our sustainable jewelry pieces again for her first public appearance since announcing her pregnancy,” says Erica Bianchini, co-founder and creative director of Ecksand. “Our commitment to sustainable practices is something Meghan connects with. It’s a cause that Harry and Meghan hold close to their hearts.”
A ring she wore during her previous pregnancy
This isn’t the first time the Duchess has worn this piece of jewelry. She wore it on her ring finger when she was pregnant with Archie, during her appearance at the Endeavour Fund Awards in February 2019. On that occasion, the ring went largely unnoticed, but now, with her new pregnancy, some media outlets are suggesting that the ring’s color could be related to the sex of the baby.
