Meghan Markle Takes Inspired from Kate Middleton for Her Wedding
Just four months after Kate Middleton and Prince William married in London, Meghan Markle tied the knot with film producer Trevor Engelson on a beach in Jamaica. The wedding lasted four days, and the then-actress wore a dress very similar to the one Kate Middleton wore after the religious ceremony.
After walking down Westminster Abbey in the spectacular Alexander McQueen gown with a sweetheart neckline, long lace sleeves, a voluminous skirt, and a three-meter train, Kate Middleton changed into a different outfit for the reception and party. For that occasion, the Duchess of Cambridge opted for a white strapless dress with a jeweled belt, designed by Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen.

An elegant and simple design that Meghan Markle reportedly took inspiration from. Thanks to photos posted on Instagram, we've been able to see that the dress Meghan wore to her first wedding is practically identical to the one Kate Middleton wore.
Both have a strapless neckline, are white, and are cinched at the waist with a jeweled belt. These details have led many to believe that the then-Suits actress took inspiration from her now sister-in-law.
Whether true or not, the resemblance between the dresses is striking. However, back then Meghan couldn't have imagined that she would end up sharing a family with Kate Middleton. She and Prince Harry would meet through mutual friends five years later, three years after Meghan's divorce from Trevor Engelson.
