Recently, King Charles III's younger son had a private meeting with his father, a sign that progress is being made in the reconciliation process he has long hoped for.
In this effort to rebuild ties, the main obstacle appears to be Prince Harry's wife, Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Sussex has never hidden her aversion to Buckingham Palace and what it represents. Within the British royal family, the possibility of a divorce is therefore being considered. According to sources close to Meghan Markle, she has even drawn up a "divorce plan," which she would implement if Harry decided to return to the UK.

According to Radar Online, as reported by Closer, the prospect of divorce is being considered on both sides of the Atlantic. "Meghan is worried that Harry will fall back into his old patterns of family manipulation," a source stated. At Buckingham Palace, royal advisors have reportedly already begun "calmly developing contingency plans in case of a breakup." These plans would include a "golden handshake" for the Duchess, meaning "a kind of generous but very structured financial agreement."
Meghan Markle could thus retain her title of Duchess of Sussex, but would be subject to a very strict "confidentiality clause." "It's a bit like with Princess Diana, but this time, the text would be more precise and the penalties more severe." The tone is set.
