Although the series is widely criticized, it remains popular and highly watched on the Netflix streaming platform. So much so, in fact, that for the holidays, the platform and the Duchess of Sussex have planned a special episode.
Entitled "With Love, Meghan, Holiday Celebration," the trailer has already been released. It shows the Duchess sharing her decorating tips for an elegant holiday table and a refined Christmas tree. The couple even shares a tender kiss. A far cry from British modesty!
But once again, this trailer comes with a new scandal: the 44-year-old Duchess is seen sitting down to light candles, wearing a magnificent long green dress.
The problem: this dress is none other than the one worn by Prince Harry's wife during a 2022 photoshoot for Variety magazine. Designed by Galvan, the "Ushaia" dress, valued at $1,695, was allegedly taken by the Duchess after the shoot without permission.
"For security reasons"
Faced with this new controversy, the couple's spokesperson put an end to all the rumors: "The insinuation that items were taken without the consent of the stylists on set or their teams is not only categorically false, but also highly defamatory," he told People magazine. "Any items kept were kept transparently and in accordance with contractual arrangements," he concluded.
The magazine also explains that it's not uncommon to see models, and even members of the royal family, keeping clothes "for security reasons," in order to prevent their resale or illegal auction.
