Shrouded in mystery, the valuable piece that the Duchess of Sussex has just brought out of her jewelry box conveys a very specific message.
Jewelry associated with royalty always evokes a special fascination, and among them, the pieces belonging to the British royal family often take the cake. From Diana, Princess of Wales's controversial engagement ring to Kate Middleton's dazzling and fabulous tiaras, these pieces have captivated us for years. And now one of them has just been seen in public again: the famous and valuable ring that Meghan Markle wears on her pinky finger on rare occasions.
The Duchess of Sussex recently attended the launch of a new hair care line by the brand Highbrow Hippie in Los Angeles, and dazzled in an all-black look consisting of a strapless top and wide-leg trousers. As accessories, she wore several pieces of jewelry, including a new gold diamond necklace engraved with her children's names, and the dazzling ring in question.
The Duchess first wore the ring, valued at €60,000, in October 2020 for an official portrait with Prince Harry published by Time magazine. She also wore it during her trip to the Invictus Games in Germany in 2023. But according to a jewelry expert, this jewel holds a deeper meaning for the former actress.
Meghan Markle's Stability and Strength
In statements reported by the British newspaper The Express, jewelry expert Maxwell Stone asserts that this piece "appears to be a 3-carat emerald-cut diamond in a solitaire setting." Delving into its hidden meaning, Maxwell believes that "the shape of the diamond cut represents stability and strength, which is particularly fitting for Meghan, who has faced a number of difficulties since she and Prince Harry made the decision to step back from royal duties."
American high jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz is the woman behind this ring and some of Hollywood's most spectacular diamond jewels. Shrouded in a certain air of mystery, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were forced to deny claims published in various media outlets that this piece had been given to Meghan by an anonymous donor from the Middle East.
In fact, the ring was acquired by a stylist directly from the designer, as the couple revealed. However, the couple later clarified that they were referring to a different ring, making no further mention of the Lorraine Schwartz jewel, leaving its true origins in a glittering limbo.
Divorce Rumors and New Work Plans
While Harry and Meghan have been immersed in constant rumors of a crisis in their relationship and even a supposed move to Europe after the victory of their enemy Donald Trump in the elections, the only thing we know for sure is that their new project for Netflix already has a release date.
This time, it's a documentary about polo, a sport that Prince Harry, the youngest son of King Charles III, is passionate about, and it has been produced by the Sussexes. The five-part documentary series will showcase the "fierce rivalries" and "intense training" that participants in the U.S. Open Polo Championship undergo. Filmed primarily in Florida, 'POLO' will premiere worldwide on December 10.
The Archewell Productions series was first announced last April, when it was revealed that Harry and Meghan had two non-fiction series in production with Netflix. The other will focus on Meghan's love of "cooking, gardening, and friendship." Both are part of the multi-year, €85 million deal the couple signed four years ago with the streaming platform and come after the premiere of 'Harry & Meghan' in 2022, which became Netflix's highest-grossing documentary series in just one week.
