He said Rio, who is 35 years younger than him, has brought him a renewed sense of comfort and stability.
Reflecting on his new relationship, he shared that he never imagined finding happiness again at his age. He explained that after years of feeling isolated and low, he now feels grateful to have someone caring by his side who has significantly improved his emotional well-being.
Thomas recently underwent a serious medical procedure in which doctors had to amputate his leg below the knee due to complications from poor blood circulation and infection.
Following the surgery, he reportedly reached out emotionally to his daughter, expressing a desire to reconcile and rebuild their relationship after years of estrangement. However, while Meghan Markle did respond by sending a letter, she did not visit him during his recovery period.
