The Duke of Sussex reportedly has not received an invitation to Sandringham this year.
Recent reports have shed light on Prince Harry’s true feelings about returning to the UK this summer. Sources say the Duke would “love” to visit Norfolk if his father, the King, extended an invitation. Harry is planning to return to Britain to attend events connected to his charitable work and personal interests.
Among his scheduled engagements is the one-year countdown event for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. He will also participate in activities for WellChild, a charity he has supported as patron since 2007. Reports suggest Harry is interested in bringing his wife, Meghan Markle, along with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to enjoy some family time in England—but only if adequate security arrangements are in place.
Since stepping back from royal duties six years ago, the Sussexes have experienced a reduction in their security provisions. A source close to Harry told The Times: “If the King were to invite him, a full security package would automatically be arranged. He would love to be invited to Sandringham. Whether he would attend depends on who else is present. If the King said, ‘Come and spend time with the family,’ he would jump at the chance. He always enjoys seeing his father and would cherish the opportunity whenever possible.”
However, new reports suggest that the situation is not quite as straightforward.
According to The Mirror, Harry has not formally requested an invitation to Sandringham for this summer. Sources indicate that the main priority “remains on the official risk assessment results.” While Harry is reportedly open to a royal invitation and a potential meeting with the King, no formal steps have yet been taken by the Sussexes to make that happen.
