Kate Middleton and Prince William have delighted royal fans after confirming a joyful new addition to their family. The couple recently introduced a new member to the Wales household, sharing the happy news just two days after marking their 15th wedding anniversary on April 29.
To celebrate their milestone anniversary, the royal couple previously posted a warm family photo on social media with the message “Celebrating 15 years of marriage,” offering a rare personal glimpse into their family life.
Shortly after, Kensington Palace shared another heartfelt update on Instagram, revealing the newest member of the family along with a touching birthday message.
The new addition is a brown cocker spaniel puppy named Otto, who is now one year old. The palace confirmed the name on behalf of the Prince and Princess of Wales, sharing an adorable photograph taken by Kate herself. The caption read: “Welcome to the family, Otto. 1 today.”
Otto is the son of Orla, the family’s beloved dog, who was gifted to the couple by Kate’s brother, James Middleton, in 2020. The new puppy continues a cherished family connection with their pets, which have long been a source of happiness for the Wales household.
The young spaniel was first seen publicly last June when he appeared alongside Orla and two of her other puppies. The photograph, also captured by the Princess, was originally released in celebration of Prince William’s 43rd birthday.
At the time, it was also reported that the couple planned to keep one of the puppies, a decision that brought great joy to their children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—especially during a challenging period following Kate’s cancer treatment.
The arrival of Otto has added another layer of happiness to the family, symbolizing a fresh and cheerful moment for the Wales household as they continue their royal duties and family life.
