During her recent royal visit to Ireland with Prince William, Kate Middleton debuted a new haircut, much shorter than the long, wavy hair we're used to seeing her in. While she has already experimented with bangs and other versatile hair colors and highlights, she now joins the list of royals who are rejuvenating their appearance with a new haircut that takes years off her look and also gives her hair a healthier appearance. Thus, she follows in the footsteps of Queen Letizia, Charlotte Casiraghi, and Charlene of Monaco, among others.
Kate Middleton debuted this new haircut during her trip to Ireland, visiting the Garden of Remembrance in Dublin to honor those who died fighting for Irish independence.
It appears Kate only trimmed the ends; however, it's a stylish long bob, slightly layered on either side of her face, a style she previously sported when pregnant with Prince Louis in 2017, and which suits her beautifully thanks to its youthful effect. We believe the Duchess of Cambridge wanted to kick off the season with this new cut, which also creates the illusion of fuller, healthier, and thicker hair.
It's a very versatile cut that allows for numerous hairstyles and can be accessorized with a headband, a half-up style, or a ponytail. While the Duchess of Cambridge rarely makes drastic changes to her hair, this updated long bob simply looks fantastic on her.
As Eduardo Sánchez, director of Maison Eduardo Sánchez, tells us, "it's a more complete cut than ever before, with only a slight layering at the front to create a subtle movement when straight and to accentuate it when the hair is wavy. It's a midi-length style, a straight cut. And as for the color, it's very beautiful, a perfect match, because it combines a chocolate brown tone that looks fantastic, with subtle babylights to avoid a flat color, and highlights in an amber or honey tone."
