According to royal biographer Christopher Andersen in a newly released book, Kate’s perception of Andrew changed drastically once details of his associations became public. Her response was described as so intense that she allegedly felt “sick to her stomach.”
Andersen notes that while the Princess of Wales is known for her kindness and willingness to forgive, there are clear limits when it comes to matters involving harm to children.
During the peak of the controversy, Kate is said to have distanced herself significantly from Andrew. Reports suggest she blocked any possibility of him attending her Christmas Carol service and largely avoided speaking to him, even during wider family gatherings.
A close friend also shared that Kate was deeply disturbed by the situation, saying she felt “physically sickened” by the potential damage Andrew’s actions could cause to the monarchy—an institution her children are expected to inherit one day.
Prince William is also said to share similar concerns. The couple reportedly agree that stronger consequences are necessary, although they recognize the process is complicated. One source explained that while they would prefer swift action, the royal system’s structure makes any decisive step difficult, often raising complex questions without simple solutions.
