Following Harry’s 2025 interview with the BBC, royal insiders and experts have shed light on how the Princess of Wales truly feels about him now. During the interview, Harry spoke candidly about his father, King Charles III, after the monarch’s cancer diagnosis, saying, “I don’t know how much longer my father has,” while also expressing a desire for reconciliation with the royal family.
Royal commentator Christopher Andersen believes those remarks had a deep impact. According to him, the comments unintentionally raised concerns about the King’s health, planting uncertainty about his recovery.
In excerpts published by Us Weekly from Andersen’s book Kate! The Courage, Grace, and Power of the Woman Who Will Be Queen, it is claimed that Kate found Harry’s interview particularly upsetting. The situation reportedly became a turning point for her.
Despite once being one of the key figures trying to repair the rift between Harry and Prince William, Kate is said to have reached her limit. Insiders suggest she assured William that she was “done” with Harry after the interview.
Interestingly, sources indicate that Kate’s reaction was less about anger and more about disappointment. Her feelings were shaped not only by the ongoing family tensions—intensified since Harry’s memoir Spare—but also by her growing sensitivity toward King Charles’ situation.
Experts note that Kate’s own experiences and her close connection with the King during their shared health struggles have made her more empathetic. As a result, she is believed to have found Harry’s public remarks especially hurtful, as they could be seen as undermining the King’s strength during a difficult time.
In what appears to be a defining moment, Andersen suggests Kate has now stepped back from efforts to reconcile the brothers, symbolically allowing William to take a firmer stance in closing that chapter for good.
