Meghan Markle always sports flawless skin and a no-makeup beauty look that has become her signature, along with her signature messy updo with loose strands framing her face. And now, Daniel Martin, the makeup artist who prepared her for her wedding, revealed to Hola magazine the 10-step routine you can use to achieve a radiant and beautiful complexion, just like the Duchess's.
1. Prepare Your Skin
If you have combination or oily skin, simply use a moisturizer and a primer before applying your foundation. However, if you've experienced dryness or redness in recent days, you can complement this with a sheet mask or collagen patches for a smoother complexion.
2. Apply foundation with…
Martin stated that the trick to achieving a flawless look is to place a few drops of foundation in the center of your face and then blend it outwards with an eye brush, using outward motions.
3. Apply concealer
Before using it, try warming the product slightly by holding the container in your hands to ensure it doesn't become cakey. Then, apply it to the area and blend using a sponge or your fingers.
4. Subtle highlighter
To achieve that natural, glowy finish without overdoing it, it's best to mix your foundation with highlighter and then apply it to your cheekbones, nose, and cupid's bow. To ensure it lasts longer, it's best to use liquid products.
5. Translucent powder
The expert recommends using it only on the T-zone or to set the concealer under the eyes, because if you apply it all over your face, it can make your complexion look dull and overly powdery.
6. Your Fingers: Your Best Tool
Martin explained that to achieve that perfect blended effect, and make the eyeshadow look very light yet deep, simply use your fingers to apply it to the eyelid, blending only two or three different shades.
7. Mascara on Both Eyelids
A common mistake among women is using mascara only on the upper eyelid, but if you really want to achieve a dramatic effect and enhance your eyes, the correct thing to do is apply it to both.
8. Liquid Eyeliner
In the case of duchesses, they are not allowed to wear very dramatic makeup, so the expert prefers to simply use eyeliner on the inner rim of the eyelid, along the lash line.
9. Soft Contouring
Something that characterizes Meghan is her satin or pearlescent blush and the shape of her cheekbones. To achieve this contrast in her complexion and slim her cheeks, her makeup artist simply applies a layer of bronzer and a touch of blush with a large brush.
10. Lip Gloss
Finally, don't forget your lips! Use a lip gloss or balm to keep your mouth soft, moisturized, and looking its best.
