Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, will remain in California while Meghan undertakes the international visit. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are also expected to stay at home with him during her time abroad.
The Duchess of Sussex is scheduled to attend an event in Switzerland focused on the unveiling of The Lost Screen Memorial, a deeply meaningful installation created to honor young people who have lost their lives due to online harm and digital-related violence.
Meghan Markle is expected to speak at the ceremony on Sunday evening at Place des Nations. She will appear alongside WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and other prominent global health leaders.
The ceremony will take place just ahead of the 79th World Health Assembly, where international delegates gather each year to discuss and set global health priorities.
During the event, the Duchess will pay tribute to the children commemorated in the memorial while also highlighting the urgent need for stronger protections for young people in digital spaces worldwide.
The installation itself features 50 illuminated lightboxes, each standing approximately 4.5 feet tall. Every display shows a recreated mobile phone lock screen belonging to a child whose life was tragically lost as a result of online harm.
These images are designed to reflect the everyday screens that families once saw on their devices, serving as a powerful and emotional reminder of the real human impact behind digital safety concerns.
The project was developed through Archewell Philanthropies, the charitable foundation founded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2020, in collaboration with The Parents’ Network. This group brings together bereaved families advocating for safer and more responsible digital environments for children and young people.
