Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can’t get a divorce because their “value proposition” is being a couple, a source told Page Six amid claims that Markle is considering writing a book after their divorce.
A Vanity Fair cover story published last week claimed that the Duchess of Sussex’s team had spoken to a publishing house to “gauge interest” in the idea of a book.
In fact, Vanity Fair's information explained that the book about Meghan Markle's divorce was about Prince Harry and not her ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, whom she split from in 2014.
However, a source who has worked closely with the couple told Page Six: "Meghan and Harry know that they are bonded together, their value is in being a couple - even if they wanted to break up, they couldn't. And honestly, they are obsessed with each other. They are just two narcissists."
"It doesn't benefit them to be apart - they have all their deals together. I think the deal with Random House is a lot like the deal with Netflix: Netflix just said 'yes' to everything, because they wanted to pick up the 'Harry & Meghan' documentary series," he added.
Another source with knowledge of the original $20 million deal with Penguin Random House that the two signed in 2021 said that nothing has ever been heard about a divorce book.
