Meghan Markle is reportedly hoping for a meaningful show of support from King Charles as she looks to expand her lifestyle brand, As Ever, in Britain.
The Duchess of Sussex has continued developing As Ever while building a new chapter of her life with Prince Harry and their children in the UK. Her return to Britain has now sparked fresh speculation about whether her business could benefit from a closer connection to the Royal Family.
According to a report from Closer, an unnamed source claimed Meghan wants to demonstrate that there is a market for her products across the pond. The source suggested that As Ever remains an important part of Meghan’s future plans alongside her other professional ambitions.
The report further claimed that Meghan would appreciate some kind of public acknowledgment from King Charles. However, this remains an unverified insider claim and has not been confirmed by Buckingham Palace or representatives for Meghan and Harry.
That distinction is important because a royal endorsement would be a significant development for As Ever. King Charles has his own long-established interests in food, gardening and country living, areas that overlap with the lifestyle image Meghan has created around her brand.
As Ever has become closely associated with Meghan’s personal interests, including food, entertaining and home life. The brand originally emerged from the project previously known as American Riviera Orchard before being relaunched as As Ever.
The business has already released products including jams, teas, honey and wine, giving Meghan a commercial platform separate from her former royal role.
Her reported interest in the UK market comes at a particularly notable time. Meghan and Harry have returned to Britain after spending years based in California, with their children also becoming part of their new UK chapter.
The couple’s return has naturally brought renewed attention to Meghan’s business activities.
Rather than abandoning As Ever, Meghan appears determined to continue developing the brand while adjusting to life closer to the Royal Family. Recent reporting has also highlighted new products and further plans for the business.
The possibility of King Charles supporting As Ever would therefore carry both personal and commercial significance. A public appearance, comment or simple acknowledgment from the monarch could generate substantial attention for Meghan’s products.
But there is currently no evidence that the King has agreed to promote the brand.
The Sussexes have had some private contact with Charles since their return to Britain. The Palace previously confirmed that the King met Harry, Meghan and their children privately at Highgrove, marking an important family reunion.
That meeting, however, should not automatically be interpreted as a business partnership.
Meghan’s reported hopes for As Ever appear to be part of a wider effort to establish the brand in Britain. With the family now spending more time in the UK, the country could provide Meghan with an opportunity to introduce her products to a new audience.
At the same time, a royal connection could create complications. Any visible association between the monarch and a commercial brand linked to a member of the Royal Family would inevitably attract scrutiny.
For Meghan, therefore, even a small gesture from King Charles could have a much larger effect than an ordinary celebrity endorsement.
The report also comes as Meghan continues to balance several professional interests. While As Ever remains an important part of her plans, she has also been linked to potential entertainment projects as she continues rebuilding her career outside the working monarchy.
For now, the idea of King Charles giving As Ever a public nod remains just that — an unconfirmed possibility reported by an unnamed source.
There has been no official announcement that the monarch intends to endorse Meghan’s products. What is clear is that Meghan is continuing to push As Ever forward at a time when her family is once again living closer to the British Royal Family.
If King Charles eventually does publicly acknowledge the brand, it would undoubtedly become a major royal-business story. Until then, Meghan’s reported hopes for his support remain speculation rather than an established royal decision.
