Meghan Markle is reportedly facing the very situation she may have feared most after returning to the UK with Prince Harry and their children.
The Duchess of Sussex had reportedly been concerned about how she and Harry would be received after relocating from California to Britain. Those concerns have now gained fresh attention following a statement from King Charles about the couple’s position within the Royal Family.
According to reports, Meghan was already feeling anxious about the move and had started questioning whether returning to Britain was the right decision. Sources cited in the reports claimed that the Sussexes were dealing with the pressure of relocating while also facing uncertainty about their relationship with the Royal Family and the British public.
One reported source said Meghan was “pretty anxious” about what could happen after the move and was already wondering if it had been a mistake.
The concerns became more significant after King Charles clarified Harry and Meghan’s position. Following their relocation to the UK, the King reportedly issued guidance making clear that the couple are not working members of the Royal Family.
Their HRH styles remain in abeyance and are not used, while their charitable activities are considered private matters. The clarification effectively reinforced the separation between the Sussexes and the working institution of the monarchy.
For Meghan, the development could be particularly difficult because reports had previously suggested that she and Harry were encouraged to consider returning to Britain.
