Marilyn Monroe, plastic surgery for her too. After 50 years the plates at auction (PHOTO)
51 years after her death, Marilyn Monroe continues to be talked about. After the dissemination of some photographs that portray her in tears during the announcement of the divorce from Joe Di Maggio, a new rumor has circulated about the diva's use of plastic surgery. A rumor confirmed by the notes of a doctor from the 1950s - which will go up for auction on November 9 and 10, in Beverly Hills, California.
Dr. Michael Gurdin's medical record includes medical plates and notes and draws a partial medical history, from 1950 to 1962, of the 'sex bomb'. The notes confirm: the protagonist of masterpieces such as 'Men prefer blondes', a timeless symbol of beauty and sensuality, seems to have succumbed to the charm of plastic surgery.
The report refers to a cartilage implant in the chin, dated 1950. Note that all of the star's major films (from 'How to Marry a Millionaire' to 'Some Like It Hot') were all shot after 1950 and therefore at that time the actress should have already had a "new" chin.
The X-rays are instead dated 7 June 1962, the day after the actress fell in the middle of the night and two months before her death, from an overdose of barbiturates, at just 36 years old. The set of plates 'photographs' the front of the skull, the nasal bones and the palate; at the time a radiologist determined that there was no damage to the nose, but a more recent examination resulted in a microfracture. It should be noted that the rays bear the name Joan Newman, as the pseudonym of Monroe, and also her exact body data (height 1.68 m, weight 52 kg).
